This is the eleventh overall in the series on marriage and the sixth addressing the question, "What is Marriage?" This was preached by Mark Potter October 10, 2012, at Chestnut Street Chapel which at that time was meeting in the chapel building behind the Gap Town Clock in Gap, PA.

Adam's song fulfilled in Jesus' song.

\r\n

The first note of the song - Gratitude

\r\n

This one is bone of my bone and flesh of my flesh.
Like me but not a carbon copy of me.
One and not many. To match one people and one God.
Keep dancing the right steps even when your partner is dancing badly.

\r\n

The second note - Affection

\r\n

Bones of me recognizes Adam.
The world has gotten this wrong and continues to get it wrong.
The story of Pandora.
Union that goes as deep as deep can go.

\r\n

The third note - Freedom within the Frame

\r\n

Alike but different paradox
Adam named but his naming was not independent of God's frame
Freedom to name within the frame prescribed by God.
Let God defined the union. Be a lover like God is with his people.
Adam names Eve and also names himself. Naming involves authority within the God given frame.
Headship looks like Jesus.
The myth of Narcissus.

\r\n

The fourth note - Confidence

\r\n

Grounded in God's idea of marriage
Marriage is not an add-on.
Marriage is who we are. The big bride of Christ married.to God the husband.
Marriage in the image of God - the three in one.
Marrage is firstly a God-made gift.

\r\n

The fifth note - Destiny: For this reason

\r\n

It is the destiny - beautiful, simple, and dazzling.
It is reunion.
God made something different and the reunion is as God defines it.
Becuase of the destiny keep going. God will finish the project.
